Two Minute Review -- John Ruskin's On Art and Life
This collection contains his classics "The Nature of Gothic" and "The Work of Iron" in which he famously writes "You must either make a tool of the creature, or a man of him. You cannot make both." It's early art criticism, which kind of led to literary criticism, and I kind of hate lit crit. It's the third time I've read this. Why do I keep coming back? Well, if you want to have deep and profound inner dialogs with the great man, read it. Me, I'm fine talking with Annie.
