    1. Great man. The first step is ALWAYS the hardest!

    2. Yes, and the most thrilling. This was my third attempt at this prompt.

  2. Exercise

The later years are an adventure
    Being elderly is a trip
With arthritis and loss of hearing
and loss of mobility without vision
    And of course dementia
    always threatening the old
There are weak joints and limbs
and pulled muscles and the falls
Which can almost put you in bed
    the rest of your life
The best way to counter age
and the ill affects of the elder
is to exercise regularly as you
    strengthen your muscles
    to build strong bones and
    secure your joints
    so they are firm and
    flexible for range of motion
    And most importantly to get
oxygen to the brain through the
    flow of blood and respiration
    to prevent the ill affects
    of the dreaded diseases
    like Alzheimer's

    2. Yes, but even this adventure could be interesting. I am observing it on my father-in-law right now.

  3. To the Sea

    Steep hills
    filled with trees
    horse trails
    weaved in
    like fabric
    made of dirt
    pine needles
    and brush
    a tiny creek
    snakes along
    barely a trickle
    plenty of mud
    timeworn oaks
    low and twisted
    block the rays
    piercing down
    then opening up
    a curtain
    the branches part
    below are rocks
    white and sterile
    smooth and worn
    then blue
    endless waves of
    blue
