  1. Character: Glenda
Desire: To be happy in life
Conflict: Glenda finally has a very comfortable life style, yet is still unhappy. She is a social recluse but is afraid to connect to people because of all the loss and betrayal she has experienced.

  2. That's great. The danger here is that your character might be passive. Don't allow her to be!

  3. Another splinter story, this time from the perspective of the yoga teacher (Marilyn), who desires to connect with others even as she is coming out of a time of pain and grief over losing a beloved sibling. Conflicts arise because she expects the best out of herself and others, leading to a terse approach to teaching, which alienates students.

  4. Character #3 in my zombie splinter series is Kevin Hobbs. Microbiologist for the CDC. Finds out too late that the zombie apocalypse is all his fault. Ironically, he is also the first person to become a zombie from having been bitten. He is the "Sir" that causes the ruckus at urgent care
