    before World War 2
    Long Beach was
    farming in the North
    side of town

    when we moved there
    in the 80s all
    that was left
    was Paul’s Dairy

    on Paramount just
    South of Artesia
    selling the milk,

    candy, and coffee
    with the cows behind
    the last residents
    of rural Long Beach

    now all that’s left
    is the store. The cows
    moved to La Mirada
    and a freight company

    in the back
    just a memory
    Long Beach was a
    farming community
