June 11

  1. I rest my head on the pillow
    The coolness of the sheets
A secure feeling in the familiar smells
    My muscles begin lax
    Darkness envelopes me
    An invisible blanket
    Soothing my restless eyes
The air is still and silent
Just the whisper of my breathing
And faint tinkling from the windchime
My mind wanders through the day
    A coudy haze
    I catalog my triumps
    And my defeats
    Itemized in a mental note
I send them off to You
    You wash me gentle instruction
    Forgive and forget
    Rest now My child
    Tomorrow is a new day

  2. Dog duty
    Ushers me into night of
    Firefly light.
